Magdalena and Lea

Maggie was found by Vera’s daughter Diana as a pup being beaten by some local people in July 2018. She was immediately rescued and spent time recovering from her wounds. She was adopted and went to live in London in January 2019. After around 6 months, it became clear she needed another doggy friend, so her old kennel mate Lea came to live with her!
Two inseparable street dogs living together in London
On 18th July 2018 Vera got a phone call from her daughter Diana. She said that she found and saved a beautiful puppy girl in town from being beaten and abused. She was around 4 months old at that time. She had wounds on her back that were bleeding. They went to get her, cleaned her wounds and gave her antibiotics. Despite the trauma she had suffered it was clear she was beautiful cuddly and friendly.
In Veras words
“The poor thing, even after surviving trauma on the streets and fighting for her life, she still trusts people. What a great soul does she have. If people had those kinds of souls, the world would be a better place”.
She was given a chance to recover, was spayed and lived on the shelter with the other dogs, having fun and showing her playful side. After several enquiries she eventually came over to London to live with Janice and Gary in January 2019.
Janice and Gary took it slowly with her. Didn’t take her out for walks for a while. Let her play in the garden, and eventually introduced her to local people.
She LOVED doing zoomies in the garden.. it seemed like she had so much energy, she would never stop.
Janice and Gary decided that she needed someone to play with. So they contacted Vera.
Vera thought that this might happen.. she knew that Magdelene was a very playful girl. Fortunately she had one dog in mind. Lea had been picked up off the streets at around the same time that Maggie was found. The idea was that Lea would be spayed and put back on the streets. But when she was released… she didnt go, she hung around the shelter so much that Vera brought her back in. She shared a kennel with……. Maggie!
So when Janice and Gary asked for another dog… Vera knew which one she should have. Lea came to London in June 2018.
Since then they have lived like “sisters” together. They have their good days and not so good days… but they do enjoy walking out together.
They both have been to training, and Maggie has achieved her silver Kennel Club Good Citizens award and Lea has her gold !
